Big Bang Theory Contractual Obligation
The Big Bang Theory is one of the most popular sitcoms to ever grace our screens. The show was premiered in 2007 and it has since garnered a massive following around the globe. One of the things that have made the show a hit is its unique blend of humor, geek culture, and science. However, did you know that some of the show`s most remarkable moments were actually contractual obligations?
The Big Bang Theory is filled with numerous references to popular culture, and it is no surprise that several of these references were the result of contractual obligations. For instance, we see Sheldon Cooper, one of the main characters, playing the bongos in one of the episodes. The scene was not entirely random because it was a reference to “The Incredible Hulk” TV show from the 1970s in which star Bill Bixby played the bongos.
In another episode, Sheldon and Penny, another central character, are arguing about Batman. The scene is funny, but it was actually a contractual obligation for DC Comics. Warner Bros., the parent company of DC Comics, owns the rights to the show, and as a result, were looking for ways to integrate their properties.
One of the most significant contractual obligations in the show involved Sheldon`s wardrobe. In the early seasons, Sheldon always wore a Flash t-shirt. This was not a coincidence, but rather a reference to the show`s executive producer, Chuck Lorre`s other project, “Two and a Half Men.” The actor Jon Cryer, who played Alan Harper in “Two and a Half Men,” also wore a Flash t-shirt, which means that Sheldon`s must-wear wardrobe choice was a nod to the other show.
Another major contractual obligation in the Big Bang Theory involved Leonard, another central character and his glasses. Johnny Galecki, who played Leonard, was initially offered the role on the show “Heroes,” but he refused it. As a result, the producers of the Big Bang Theory made it mandatory for Leonard to wear glasses to emphasize his nerdiness.
In conclusion, while some of the references in the Big Bang Theory may seem insignificant, they are actually contractual obligations. The show`s creators were undoubtedly successful in weaving together these contractual obligations with jokes and humor, which contributed to the show`s immense popularity. Despite the contractual obligations, the Big Bang Theory remains a show that is loved by millions across the globe.
